What Is a Skilled Medical Need?
Under most insurance plans, the patient is required to have a “skilled medical need” to qualify for any type of home nursing or therapy. This technical term essentially means that you or your loved one requires assistance from a skilled nurse or a therapist - such as a physical, occupational or speech therapist - in order to properly treat their medical ailments.
